Family planning

Family planning is life; PH-Tanzania has been providing family planning education to the community, especially household heads (mothers and fathers) in Tanzania, particularly in peripheral areas. Reproductive health education is crucial in Tanzania, especially in rural areas where many people give birth without considering their living conditions and their ability to provide proper care and services for their children, such as quality education, nutritious food, clothing, etc.

PH-Tanzania has focused more on providing this education to women after childbirth and to girls who become pregnant early. The use of family planning helps significantly in preventing unwanted pregnancies and enables women and mothers to plan for pregnancies, allowing them to prepare and care for their children adequately.

PH-Tanzania has been delivering this education in collaboration with development partners, non-governmental organizations, and working closely with Community Health Workers (CHWs) and healthcare providers in government hospitals in rural areas. PH-Tanzania is committed to providing this essential education to the community.

CHWs perform this service door-to-door with the aim of ensuring they reach all the target beneficiaries in their homes and engage them in discussions about the importance of family planning as a means to bring efficiency to the respective communities.
