Nutrition

Good nutrition is extremely important in the life of any human being. PH-Tanzania has been providing services and education on proper nutrition for pregnant women, especially in peripheral areas of eight regions in Tanzania, through ” health workers” at health centers, particularly government-owned ones. Additionally, the organization has been utilizing volunteer youth known as “Community Health Workers” (CHWs). CHWs are selected from within the respective communities, an area that is crucial to ensuring that pregnant women and their unborn children receive proper nutrition to stay healthy at all times, with the aim of addressing issues of malnutrition and challenges related to nutrition.

PH-Tanzania continues to provide education on proper nutrition for pregnant women and their children up to the age of five, ensuring that pregnant women recognize the importance of good nutrition at all times. Moreover, in collaboration with the “Tiba Salama Digital Health App,” PH-Tanzania delivers this crucial education through their mobile phones regularly, and various face-to-face sessions are conducted before and after childbirth and beyond.

PH-Tanzania is an organization that aims for women in the community to have a good understanding and health. It emphasizes the importance of knowing what nutrition means for a pregnant woman and how to protect oneself and one’s child from diseases resulting from a lack of proper nutrition.
